CM Inaugurates Traditional Shoolini Festival in Solan

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today formally opened the three-day State-level Shoolini Festival in Solan, a vibrant cultural and religious celebration held in honour of Goddess Shoolini.

This long-standing fair, deeply rooted in local tradition, commemorates the symbolic visit of Goddess Shoolini to the temple of her elder sister, Goddess Durga, located at Ganj Bazaar in Solan. A major highlight of the event is the grand palanquin procession, which attracted large crowds of devotees who lined the streets to offer prayers and receive blessings.

As part of the celebrations, the Chief Minister joined devotees in paying homage by participating in the Shobha Yatra and carrying the palanquin of the goddess. He also offered floral tributes and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Himachal Pradesh.

To commemorate the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled a special souvenir prepared by the Mela Committee.

Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the Mela Committee, Manmohan Sharma, welcomed and felicitated the Chief Minister at the event.

Also in attendance were Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, MLAs Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Bawa Hardeep Singh, and Suresh Kumar, Chairman of Baghat Cooperative Bank Arun Sharma, Chairman of Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank Mukesh Sharma, Solan Mayor Usha Sharma, Congress leaders Surinder Sethi and Shiv Kumar, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, and other distinguished guests.
