Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while addressing a public gathering in Baruna, Nalagarh Assembly Constituency, emphasized that the upcoming budget would focus on strengthening the rural economy, education, and healthcare.
During the event, the Chief Minister announced several developmental initiatives for Nalagarh, including:

- Setting up a fire station in Ramshahar.
- Creating new Patwar Circles in Quarni and Sai Chadhog.

The Government Senior Secondary School in Jongo will also be named after Martyr Rifleman Rajesh Rishi. Additionally, an Integrated Sports Complex will be built in Nalagarh, and a Primary Health Centre will be established in Panjera.
The Chief Minister announced plans to lay the foundation stone for a 1 MW Green Hydrogen Project in Nalagarh soon, a step towards promoting sustainable energy. He stressed the importance of environmental protection for future generations and highlighted the government’s commitment to uplifting underprivileged families while encouraging affluent households to relinquish subsidies.
Criticism of BJP and Focus on Reforms
CM Sukhu criticized the BJP for policies that allegedly marginalized the poor while benefiting affluent families. He highlighted that under the BJP’s tenure, Himachal Pradesh slipped to 21st place in education rankings, and health institutions were reduced to referral centers.
“Our government is implementing reforms in education and healthcare to address these deficiencies,” he said. This includes establishing Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools and generating an additional ₹2,200 crore in revenue over two years for the state’s development.
The CM further addressed monsoon disaster relief, announcing a ₹4,500 crore package to support 23,000 affected families. Compensation for completely damaged houses has been increased from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹7 lakh. He also noted initiatives like adopting orphaned children as “Children of the State” and bearing the education expenses of widows’ children under the Indira Gandhi Sukh-Shiksha Yojana. MNREGA wages have been increased to ₹300 per day.
